Water Conservation and Drought Management Workshops 04/28/06 College of Agriculture and Home Economics is heading a strategic planning initiative to assist municipalities, counties, and water suppliers with the development and implementation of their water conservation and drought management plans that assist with water issues.

The strategic planning initiative purpose is to aid entities or persons that ditribute or otherwise provide water for domestic, commercial, industrial or government customers that are in need of planning assistance.

The initiative consist of a series of participative planning workshops to develop the overall vision, mission, strategic goals and barriers of water conservation for each water region in New Mexico. Presently, the initiative workshops will be conducted in the following water regions: North West New Mexico region, Colfax Region, and the Sierra/Socorro region. Phase 3 workshop for NWNM Region will be conducted in Grants, NM June 16, 2006 at the Future Foundation Center, Grants, NM 8:30 am. The Colfax Phase 2 workshop will be conducted June 23, 2006.
